In the Gold Coast Community, The Vincentian Centre for Church and Society is an active one that offers a myriad of educational services to the public. They are dedicated to helping people as they have been taught by the life and teachings of St Paul.
They are a loving society, and the doors are always open to anyone who needs assistance. Some of the areas they delve into include the following.
The Vincentian Centre for Church and Society provides a service to aged people, and that service is known as Home Assist Secure. The Home Assist Secure service provides free information and referrals regarding maintenance, repair and security for the home.
It also provides repair and maintenance services for people above 60 at a relatively lower price. It's a way of helping the aged with easy and affordable access to major and minor repairs around their homes
.The aged also have access to a service that allows them to make modifications around their homes for a very affordable price. Maintenance services like electricity repair or replacements, minor plumbing services, and handymen services at subsidised prices are offered to people above the age of 65.
The protection of the child is one of the priorities of The Vincentian Centre for Church and Society. They have a strong belief that children should only be allowed to reside in a home where they feel safe, and adequate provisions would be made for their various needs.
However, they might have to intervene in some cases where parents are not able to take care of their children. For instance, they step in in a situation where both parents are drug or alcohol addicts and either have to go for rehabilitation programs or give up the care of their kids. They sometimes work with child services and foster care services to ensure that these children are given good homes.
Also, in situations where the parents cannot afford to take care of their children financially, they provide a source of relief for them.
People living with disabilities are still mostly passed over when they seek jobs, even when they are obviously qualified for the sought-after position because there is a misconception about them.
At The Vincentian Centre for Church and Society, they endevour to provide a source of livelihood for people with disabilities. They also provide them with Home Assist Secure services.
Victims of natural disasters almost always feel hopeless after the occurrence. They lose everything they own in a disaster that certainly isn’t their fault.
The Vincentian Centre for Church and Society provide relief for these victims in clothing, shelter, financial assistance, food supplies, among many others.
Drug and Alcohol, Education and Employment, Emergency Assistance are the other services are made accessible to anyone who needs them here at the Gold Coast chapter of The Vincentian Centre for Church and Society.
