The Vincentian Center for Church and Society is an academic-based centre primarily concerned with expounding the teachings of St. Vincent de Paul to the church and the local communities. The Centre is located at the Gold Coast. They develop educative ways to open people's minds to the life and teachings of St. Vincent de Paul.
The Centre continues to introduce and expound the Vincentian way to the University and the local communities in the Gold Coast. They research the relevant topics of social justice, poverty, science and religion.
The Vincentian Center for Church and Society explore how topics are interwoven and publish findings to the public for educational purposes. The Centre also organises different educational programs geared towards bridging the gap between the University, the Community and the Church.
The Centre expresses support for academic activities by encouraging studies into different areas, especially studies geared towards social justice and serving the greater good of the Church and Community per the Ex Corde Ecclesiae (From The Heart of The Church).
The Vincentian Centre is deeply rooted in the Catholic Church. The Church's goal of serving the community is carried out through the Center, and through the organisation of several educational and academic programs and some cultural events, the Centre can achieve this goal.
The Vincentian Centre is home to the Vincentian Chair of Social Justice.
The Mission at the Vincentian Centre for Church and Society is centred around promoting and expounding the Vincentian way. Mission is to develop expertise in the Vincentian way while also organising academic programs and cultural events for the University and the surrounding communities.
